Mr Martin Kearney was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Auckland One Rail (AOR) on 16 October 2023. He oversees the development and operations of AOR in New Zealand.

Mr Kearney has had more than 30 years of experience in the transport sector in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. He began his career at British Rail and first made the move to New Zealand in 2012. Prior to joining the Group, he was Managing Director of Nexus, Tyne and Wear Metro, where he supervised multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects and the delivery of the first of a new fleet of metro trains. During his time with Transdev Auckland, he had served as its Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer and oversaw the introduction of three-car electric multiple units fleet onto Auckland’s then newly-electrified rail network.

Mr Kearney is certified with the UK-based National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, and has undertaken various advanced leadership and management programmes.
